Character Profile for Hannah Yoder

If you’ve been following The Morelville Mysteries series since it started, you’re probably a little familiar with Hannah Yoder, the former Amish young woman who becomes friends with Dana and, through her, with Mel. She first appears in Book 3, Dana’s Dilemma where we find her at age 19, not long after she’s left the Amish way of life, living with some female friends, trying to earn a high school diploma and working as cook in an out of the way but popular Zanesville bar and grill. danas-dilemma-cover

Hannah plays a pretty extensive role in Book 3 but then she doesn’t appear again until Book 5, Viva Mama Rossi!. In that book, she has a new job, she’s started going to culinary school and she has herself a girlfriend (but we don’t get to meet her just yet). Viva Mama Rossi! Book Cover

Even though we don’t get to spend a lot of time with her in ‘Viva’, her appearance there lays the groundwork for a cameo appearance in Book 6, A Crane Christmas, (and another cameo featuring the same scene from a different perspective in the lesfic romance Broken Women) and a slightly bigger role in Book 7, Mad for Mel.

If you’ve read all of those, did you wonder if there might be a little more in store for Ms. Hannah? Well, surprise, there is!

The case in Mad for Mel was resolved and Mel and Dana got through what they were going through…no spoilers here, but there was just a wee bit of a cliffhanger at the end that involves Hannah. That cliffhanger is where The Morelville Mysteries, Book 8, Hannah’s Hope, will pick up and oh where it will go from there

Life is about to change in Morelville; drastically.

Hannah's Hope

Hannah’s Hope is due out in 2-3 weeks. Get ready!

About Anne Hagan

I'm an East Central Ohio based government employee by day and a fiction author by night. I specialize in mystery fiction featuring lesbian sleuths and cozy fiction featuring women sleuths. I also dabble in romance especially romantic lesfic. I live with my wife and our dogs in a tiny town that’s even smaller than the Morelville of my first fiction series and we wouldn't have it any other way. My wife grew up here and she has always called this little village home. Though it’s an ultra-conservative rural community, we're surrounded here by family, longtime friends and many other wonderful people with open hearts and minds. My wife and I are the co-owners of a commercial haunted house: Hagan's House of Horrors. Much as my dream has always been to write fiction, hers has been to create it through the medium of horror. We went full commercial in 2015. Watch us as we grow!

I thank you for your interest. This will begin as a traditional mystery but the twist at the end is going to change a lot of things for the Rossi and Crane families going forward. I’ll have a synopsis soon but, if you’ve read any of my previous book descriptions, you know I don’t like to give much of the plot away in them. Where’s the fun in that?
